Locus Focus is a NY based collective of filmmakers. Its mission is to produce films that challenge expectations, represent diverse perspectives and explore big ideas.
We begin with a location. Then, the reverse engineering process begins. Looking for unexpected elements, the collective starts to imagine possible scenarios, building a film around that particular place.
Laura Gomez actress, voiceover artist, filmmaker. Laura has been making a name for herself over the past decade. Best known for transforming herself into "Blanca Flores," a cunning and disheveled inmate on the award-winning smash hit series ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK for netflix. She was a recipient of the IX Screenwriting Developing Grant from the Caroling Foundation in Spain and has studied film at the prestigious NYU film school and screenwriting at the Jacob Krueger Studio. She recently worked on the HBO original miniseries SHOW ME A HERO created by David Simon and directed by Paul Haggis, and the film DAUGHTER OF GOD, starring Keanu Reeves. She has also starred in several short films including TO KILL A ROACH - winner of an NYU Award - and HALLELUJAH, both of which she wrote, directed and produced.

Marisa Viola is an NYU based actor and filmmaker. She produced the feature ELLIOT LOVES, which had an 18 month run on HBO, and has produced several short films, as well as HEY YUN - A Webseries. Her theater work includes acting and directing at The Performing Garage (Wooster Group artistic residency), The Public, Theater Row and 59 East 59th Street.
Alfredo Narciso recently starred in the world premiere of ELEVADA at Yale Reperatory Theater, penned by Sheila Callaghan ("Shameless" & "United States of Tara"). He also produced and starred in the upcoming short film ONE DAY HOME (which co-stars Michelle Hurst & Catherine Curtin from "Orange is the New Black," Frank Harts from "The Leftovers," and Larry Pine from "House of Cards"). Other recent film and TV credits include: "Beauty and the Beast" (CW), "The Following" (Fox), "Madam Secretary" (CBS), "The Blacklist" (NBC) and the upcoming films DEMOLITION (Dir. Jean-Marc Vallee, starring Jake Gyllenhaal) and JACQUELINE ARGENTINE (dir. Bernardo Britto). He is also a member of LAByrinth Theater Company, Ensemble Studio Theater and The Actor's Studio.

Hilary Bettis writes plays, movies and TV. She is a recent graduate of the Lila Acheson Wallace Playwright Fellowship at The Juilliard School. She has had numerous residencies, fellowships, commissions and workshops across the country. Highlights include: a residency at The Kennedy Center, a residency at the O'Neill National Playwrights Conference, a New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship and a Sloan Commission. She will have eight productions of three different plays produced across the United States and Mexico this coming theater season. She is currently working on several feature and short film projects and has had short films selected for multiple national festivals. She's currently working on a webseries with Alyssa Milano.
